* The blogger claimed to have picked up the iPhone X at Apple’s California HQ
* She posted a video showing details of the new smartphone days before its November 3 launch
* The video has now been taken down, and her Apple engineer dad fired
Last Wednesday, YouTube blogger Brooke Amelia Peterson shared footage of the upcoming 10th anniversary iPhone, which she claimed to have picked up when visiting her father who works at Apple’s $5 billion HQ.
However in her latest video released on Saturday, she confirmed to her subscribers that her ‘honest, wonderful’ dad had lost his job as a result of her earlier video.
The video leaking details of the upcoming iPhone X has since been taken down at Apple’s request. The footage shows Peterson’s dad using the iPhone X to automatically pay for lunch at a Caffé Macs – the cafeteria at Apple’s HQ – before handing it to her.
Unfortunately the video which Peterson admitted she never expected to go viral has cost her father his job.
In her latest video she said: “At the end of the day, when you work for Apple, it doesn’t matter how good a person you are, if you break a rule you’ve gotta go.”
“I’m not mad at Apple, I’m not going to stop buying Apple products. Rules are in place for the safety and happiness of workers, and my dad takes absolute responsibility for that one rule that he broke.”
