A Twitter employee who was completing their last day in the job deactivated President Trump’s account (@realdonaldtrump). The account was taken down for 11 minutes, just before 7 pm EDT on Thursday.
After a brief investigation, Twitter took responsibility for the outage; the company tweeted a statement saying that President Trump’s account was ‘inadvertently deactivated due to human error’ by one of its employees.
However in a second statement, Twitter confirmed that an employee on their last day was behind the President’s account deactivation.
As expected after an incident like this, Twitter erupted with a lot of memes and banters.

In his usual bullish style, Trump brushed off the incident, saying that it showed the impact he was having.
My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee. I guess the word must finally be getting out-and having an impact.
