Instagram is testing a feature that lets you share Stories directly to WhatsApp

You could soon be able to share your Snapchat-styled status update directly to WhatsApp from your Instagram app. Reports have it that Facebook which owns the two companies is testing out a way to allow users share their Snapchat-like decorated photos and videos on both platforms.

Users can already link their Facebook account to Instagram and share photos and one-minute videos directly to it. However the social media giant is interested in achieving a deeper integration among its subsidiaries.

A spokesperson said: “We are always testing new ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with people who matter to you.”

The feature was first spotted by TechCrunch among a few users in Brazil, but it is not yet clear whether it will be rolled-out globally. However, Stories shared from Instagram to WhatsApp using this feature will be encrypted like every other message, and will disappear after 24 hours.
