Instagram could soon let you make one-to-one private video call. When fully rolled out, the Snapchat-style feature will be available to users who have already started exchanging private messages with another user. At the moment, users can only engage in a public video chat while viewing another user’s Live Story.
The feature, which will only be available to users through pre-existing conversations was first reported by WABetaInfo. The report also included a screenshot allegedly showing a new video icon in the top-right corner of an Instagram Direct message.
While Instagram has refused to comment about the rumoured feature, it will no doubt prove a popular feature among users if the company goes ahead with it. The photo sharing app is currently the only major subsidiary of Facebook Inc. that does not support private video chat.
